New middle school model based on quality education
At Amadou Hampaté Bâ, we are in the process of forging a new middle school model based on quality education.

more thinking through concepts, less memorization
more self-confidence, less apprehension
more high expectations, less resignation
more quality, less quantity
more encouragements, less put-downs
more learning, less copying off the board
Since 2008, we have been trying to make learning more relevant within the context of our students’ everyday lives and the real world. We want to help our students become productive and healthy members of society, able to contribute economically to the nation, while also ensuring their own financial independence.
But our school’s first priority is to promote human excellence. We encourage human excellence through value education and service learning, developing an ethos of mutual respect and co-operation. At Amadou Hampaté Bâ, we cultivate both relational and academic intelligence.
The Amadou Hampaté Bâ school is equally set on becoming a professional development centre offering ongoing teacher training courses and study circles to its own staff and other primary and secondary teachers in its community.
Our main aim is to break the vicious cycle of economical and human poverty in Niger thanks to a quality education which will empower our youth. Tomorrow , thanks to such an education, our students will be able to create a civilization of peace — united and diverse, equal and just, prosperous and benevolent, scientifically progressive and spiritually enlightened, technologically advanced and environmentally healthy.
